    Hope I'm not derailling but you might have looked into this?

    Does anyone know anywhere you can rent a tandem - I'd like to try it for one or two days out over the summer but they're pretty $$$ and impossible to store?

    Did you manage to locate a tandem? I'm looking to rent one myself. It's for the Tour De Picnic. The Phoenix Park place doesn't rent the tandems outside of the Phoenix Park.

    Hi, we managed to rent one alright from a bike shop in Tallaght. Unfortunately, they had only one which belongs to one of the guys who works there. Not sure what advice I can give you, it took me about 3 weeks to finally find one. They're like hens teeth!! The guy in the Phoenix Park isn't willing to rent his tandems outside the park. Maybe you might have better luck?

    the guy in phoenix park doesnt exactly have a shop!he's based just inside the park gate at parkgate st on left as you go in. he's pretty sound n rents regular and tandem bikes for use in the park.
