Has anybody seen some decent Calvados (apple brandy) for sale anywhere in Ireland?
I don't like regular brandy at all really but love this stuff. Particularly a nice smokey one.

It's certainly available. Any good off licence will either have a small selection or be able to order you in your preference. Which of the calvados' have you found smokey?

Can't remember to be honest - normally pick up some in France. Have found that the quality varies a lot - doesn't necessarily mean that an expensive one is better than a less expensive one. Do you know of any good off licence with a range of Calvados's available? or any recommendations of your own?

We normally buy Calvados from local producers when we are over in Normandy (the wife hails from there). The only place I have seen it here is the Celtic Whiskey Shop opposite the Mansion House in Dublin and they only had one brand. Then again I wasn't looking for any.

I've seen some in Redmonds, Ranelagh. Always get the impression that its overpriced in Ireland though (more so than other spirits).
