...... for 2011, so does this replace a good chunk of the work done by accountants for small Ltd companies?

Wouldn't think so, many accountants have been e-filing on behalf of clients for a few years now.

Saves Revenue more as they dont have to deal with paper filing. Does make a lot of sense to file online though.

I dont think it does to be honest. Most accountants have been filing online for quiet awhile. Practice im in for 4 years and I have only ever filed online.

It saves both revenue and accountants a little time not to have to be messing with paper and will possibly save the client a few euro but other than that no major change.

We ve been doing this for years anyway. It's mainly designed to cut revenue staff and make sure everything is in a similar format for them and easily feed into their sytem.

If anything its leading to more work as some clients who were use to filing their own manual returns (vat 3's, P30's) etc are either not comfortable with ROS or just don't use it. They ring up and ask us to file it now. Doesnt take long though in saying that.

on a related note.... has anyone used the pre-populated returns on ROS yet? I think they are available for Income Tax & Corporation Tax.
