    Hey guys,

Im looking for a decent set of new headphones for use at work, I work in an office so i will need something that will allow me to listen to my music at a level i like and those around me not listen to it aswell :p.

    I was looking at;

    Marshall Majors

    Grado SR60i

    Sennheiser 215 II

but a friend of mine suggested I should go for
    Sony MDRXB700

I like my bass heavy music but what i would listen would really vary, could be rock, house, indie, chillout, istrumental or anthing basically all in the one day.
Depending on the mood and the work im doing.

They will be being used with an iPod Touch.

Any help or suggestions on what would best suit my needs would be greatly appreciated.

I think the SR60s are ruled out then. The same requirement ruled out Koss PortaPros for me.

Thanks for that humbert, so is there anything on my list you would think would suit the job?
Or are there any better performing headphones that I havnt listed in the same price range that would also fit the bill?

Sorry I can't really help on that one. My requirements are different, headphones for a smartphone. So I've been eyeing sennheiser px 200-IIi because they have an inline control and aren't to bulky for wearing out and about.

I have Sennheiser 485s but the are open backed so again not suitable for you. Fantastic sound though.

http://www.head-fi.org/ is pretty good for reviews.

Thanks Humbert! That site has some great reviews, which has changed my mind on the Sennheiser 215 II and prefer the Sennheiser 380 Pro now instead.
    So as my choices stand its between the following;

    Marshall Majors

    Sennheiser 380 Pro

    Sony MDRXB700

The Marshalls only getting mediocre reviews however as for the Sony's
What these means is that although they are isolating (at high levels for a closed can), they also leak a lot more noise than other closed cans. Granted, the holes are covered by the headband when in use, and the section that covers them has a cloth-like material on it. In other words, these might not be the best closed headphones for listening in public

Which kind of rules out using them in the office, guess its Sennheiser 380 Pro all the way so.

Thanks again for your help Humbert

    EDIT:
Crap just read a review on amazon which kind or rules out the 380 Pro's
However if you are frequent listener to drum and bass and/or dubstep, the amount of bass in these headphones may not be adequet for you, although they are advertised as DJ headphones, i'm not sure if they cut it for these particular genres.

:( back to the drawing board...

    RE EDIT:
These Klipsch Image One On-Ear Headphones, might be something that would interest you if you are looking for an inline remote with a mic Humbert they are not anything near as light weight as those sennheisers you are looking at though.

Completely contrary to my opening post, after reading countless reviews i come up with 2-2 1/2 options.

    Either

Sony MDR v6 or Sony MDR 7506

    OR

    Audio-Technica ATH-T500

But the Audo Technica's looks a bit like something a army pilot would wear... so im between the two sony really.

    The 7506's are considerably lighter than the v6's @ 231g vs 454g.
Which should mean long term wear is more comfortable but im still not sold.

Anyone have a preference, in which one you would choose?

Don't know where you're getting the weight difference from on the Sony's, they're pretty much the same headphones with different cables plugs.

I have used the MDR-V6 and they are excellent. Highly recommended.

    Amazon says,
    Boxed-product Weight: 499 g
    Product Dimensions: 23.1 x 16.5 x 9.1 cm ; 454 g
    Boxed-product Weight: 594 g
    Item Weight: 231 g

    Thanks for the review though!

Any significant weight will be from their thick, coiled cable (like a corded telephone). The cans themselves are quite light.

Based on this site, I said I'd give these headphones a bash. €66 from Amazon.co.uk and free shipping. No bad at all.

Currently using some cheapo Microdoft headset in work and it's killing my ears. Time for some comfort hopefully.
