Is there a minimum number of bouts that a boxer needs on his card to be eligible for the National Intermediates? 15+? Or can anyone enter?

I know the National Novices require the boxer to have under 12 in order to compete but don't know the criteria for the Intermediates.

No criteria but realistically you'd want many fights before doing them, 20 minimum I'd say. With many wins

agree here. Very high standard of boxing, have heard of senior boxers getting regraded back to intermediate too.

As far as i know once senior you can never go back-i've never heard of anyone going back or been able to either.

In saying that there is plenty of intermediates who could handle the seniors, some choose not to go senior till they win the intermediates and they would aslo challenge at senior level.

Even the National novices was a very high standard this year-i was very suprised at how good it was.

I stand corrected there, just heard talk of boxers looking to get regraded and thought it was a common thing.

Yea, a lot of good up and comming boxers do a year or two in Intermediate before steping up. Very tough competition to win.

Yes your are correct there you can still box in the intermediate Championships now once you havent reached a senior final, last year Adam nolan was beaten by Willie Mcloughlin in senior semi finals last year and then went on to win this the intermediates this year gone.

It's been like this a few years now once you ain't gotten to a senior final or boxed a senior international you can still box in the championships. So it makes the inters a even higher standard.
