Would it be possible to have a stickied thread categorically indexing other threads for reference purposes?

    Sports:
The official TGC rugby fans thread.
    TGC Golf watch.
    etc
    etc

    Style:
    The Suit Thread
    etc

Correct.I think what Dr Galen proposed was having a thread run for a few weeks at a time like the Gentlemens Compendium one and then have a sticky where people can find the links for reference or to add contributions.

Dr. Galen's thread is a good one. But the weakness of the thread is in the name 'General Man Tips'. It's fine for browsing or contributing a tid-bit but will become unwieldy as it grows.

What I would propose is that any threads deemed good enough to make the cut get a mention in the appropriate category in the Index thread.

    Does this make sense?

Thats only the first in what will be a series of different threads for various different topics.

Some of the topics that will be discussed are listed here in the poll.

Fantastic, thanks for the info Otis.

Some great ideas for threads in there. One oddity in the poll though, only 1 person thinks an interview thead is a good idea? In these recessionary times I'm shocked.

I suppose the thinking on that one is that there is a work and jobs forum with a butt load of information in it.

I think we should move onto the next topic in the very least, its not impossible to post on two subjects at a time, and the synergy my indeed help the forum.

For example posters comming in to view the next topic, stumble across the old one, and post in that too.
