Had a hole in one at the 3rd hole in Castle Barna this morning, only thing is, i was playing on my own. I know people will say its not a genuine hole in one as i had no witness, any opinions??

This reminds me of something else I wondered in relation to holes in one. A player puts ball out of bounds on a par 3 , hits 3rd from tee and holes it. So it's a 3 yes?
Be tough if it happened and technically u couldnt claim a hole in one!

Em..........probably not, you should report it here. :p:D

    /Off topic, kinda....
My own experience, I was playing a team competition, scramble, and on the 17th hole in Waterrock my teammate hit a 3 wood towards the green (and into the sun) and as we were looking at it we could see it was turning towards the green, yep it's definitely on the green and heading towards the hole, and whoa I think it's disappeared, but couldn't be certain as the sun was blinding us, we walked onto the green and up to the hole and there it was, grinning, looking up at us, yeehaa !!

I've had two eagles (from 150y out) on the same hole.... both on my own. Thank god the course Pro was on the next tee box, giving a lesson, and bore witness the second one.... no one would have believed me if he wasn't :D

meh, the hole in one counts for you at least. Just dont be bragging about it too much.

never had ahole in one...one day hit a six iron beautifully at the pin...it was all over it in the air...it subsequently hit the top of the pin and shot 20 yards up against a wall......ended with a bogey and lucky to do so.

Of course it counts. Golf is a game of honesty and integrity after all.

Oh, and by the way, well done!

Never had an ace but hit the nicest 8 iron ever into the par 3 6th in Waterrock one day, it cutted perfectly and left me two inches for birdie which as it happens was my first birdie ever in golf..................caught the bug!! (That was about two years ago, have yet to make birdie on a par three since)

Trying to remember the third in castle barna, is it the one over the water?

Great shot all the same, did you tell Kevin about it?

Yeah, its the one over water alright. Hit 6 iron to it, dunno Kevin. Told lady in the clubhouse alright. First time playing it, be back now for definite.

I'v done that before and i'm definitly counting it. The best thing about it is that you dont have to buy a drink for anyone. :D F the begrudgers :p
    Fair play to ya anyway.

Best Ive mustered is the balls first bounce being in the cup, actually landing in it and then bouncing out again faster than it went in haha. In my own head i claimed it as a hole in 1 :P

I think you should as well if it makes you happier!

He's the guy who owns the place. Dead sound. They do have weekend deals on teetimes as well, think it's only €12 on it.
Haven't played over there in about 2 years. Must head over again

Must be a handy hole so ;):P

it is a bit i suppose, ive played it about five times, aced it three times, so i guess you could call it handy. but then again if you play 60 rounds of golf a year you should get around 15/20 hole in ones on the par 3s alone. add in 7 or 8 on the par 4s and maybe 2 or 3 on the par 5s, then you realise hole in ones are not as rare as some people might think

**** I must be **** I play 250+ rounds in the last few years and I'v never got one:mad:

Its a hole in one. The only thing that matters is that you know you had a hole in one. Sure it would have been nice to have people there but be content in yourself that you have achieved the feat! Its amazing how people question the honesty and integrity element when a person has a hole in one!! Ive never had one myself and ive been playing for 15 years! Well done!
