Hi guys, looking for recommendations for good quality hostels in Munich. Probably best thing is to be in the city itself, but the hostel has to be quite near the U-Bahn line and a station as I'd be travelling to Garching-Hockbruck daily. Ideas of prices would be great too if possible. Thanks in advance.

My daughter is a big fan of a hostel group called Wombats.

Ive heard good things about Euro Youth Hostel and will be staying there over the May Bank holiday. Msg me after that and I can tell you what its like if you want.

you might want to check out the website toy town germany. Go to the munich forums they would give you better advice then you will find here.

I could nearly take offense at that ;)

Anyhow, any of the hostels on senefelderstr right by the main station are grand and it's directly to the airport from there
That's wombats or euro youth or jaegers.
Wombats gets great reviews. Had visitors stay there over the years and they were very happy.
All 3 have bars on site so you don't have to leave the place in the evening should you not want to.

That said, theres also two a+o hostels a slight bit further out that visitors also hadn't a bad word about. They are also beside the rail lines to the airport and sometimes have rooms available when the ones on senefelderstr don't.

The only hostel with a direct connection to garching is the easy palace hostel at goetheplatz but I never got reports on what it's like.
