    Hey all,

Ive a wedding April 16th so went to get tan tested on my arm. I asked her to put it directly where i often get flare ups and within 30seconds my skin flared up. So they tried oragnic stuff and same thing. So today i tried washable stuff and it really darkens the patches.

So basically tan is out of the question, i dont want to be too pale either, any suggestions? Would bronzing powder work?

Anyone been in this predicament before?

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried using Sally Hansen? My friend that has eczema finds that it doesn't make hers flare up.

Bronzing powder might work also but I'm not sure if it would last very long.

Slightly off topic but have you ever tried coconut oil for eczema, it's very very good.

Have you thought of using a body powder instead? I hate fake tan, never seems to come out right on my skin, and i often get flare ups, but my sister gave me a gift of Urban Decay Honey body powder and its fantastic. I would be pretty pale, but when i use the Honey powder everyone comments on what a subtle glow i have, rather than "thats a nice fake tan you got!" Smells divine, and its lickable-the boyfriend loves it :D They also do a Cocoa Powder, which i would imagine is darker in colour than the Honey. Boots in Liffey Valley stock Urban Decay as do Debenhams. Might be worth a look!

I got the E45 E45 Endless Moisture Radiance and it's good, but I personally found it too glittery/shimmery, but then I don't like glittery/shimmery tans, I don't know about you OP.

I don't know if you can use E45, but if you want it, I think I still have a bottle of it upstairs (I tried it once on one arm) so it's still full, your welcome to have it if you want it.

If you do want it, PM me your postal address and I'll post it out ASAP.

My friend has it might borrow it off her and test it before i go buying. I was worried the bronzer wont last long but even if it last the church i wouldnt mind over the meal and night.

This stuff sounds brilliant. Ill try Debenhams in Waterford first and see.

Thanks a million for the offer. Is it washable stuff or what is it? Im not into real glittery tan either prefer the closest to natural tan as one can get.

Thanks everyone for the advice, hope i find something or shrug it is :(

To my knowledge, you don't drink this, you apply it to the skin.

I'm not 100% sore, I'll check now and let you know.

    EDIT:

Just checked and it says "for best results use daily" so I am assuming it is washable, though I could be wrong.

Also noticed on my bottle it says "normal to dry skin" so I don't know if it will be suitable for you.

EDIT again; there is a topic here I started ages ago, might be worth having a look through it, see if anyone posted a similar/same question as yourself OP?

Just another though, have you tried using a facial bronzer? Because they are formulated specifically for the face they tend to be less harsh than body make-up. When i worked for Debenhams(many moons ago) there was a girl in thhe cosmetics hall that used Benefit Hoola as a fake tan "pep"-she'd just rub it into the skin as you would on the face and it gave her a lovely glow. If i remember rightly she would use a light moisturiser first and apply the bronzer when it was almost sunk into the skin. Might be worth a shot!!

Re the coconut oil, you can take it internally or externally, I developed an allergic eczema to a pair of shoes and nothing at all worked on my feet until I discovered coconut oil, I literally couldn't walk the eczema was so bad, at one stage my boyfriend had to literally carry me from room to room  It was terrible but then I bought some coconut oil and put loads of it on my feet and wrapped them in cling film, they started to improve almost instantly......

It's anti bacterial and anti fungal which is why I felt it was safe to wrap my feet with cling film because there was no risk of a horrible fungal infection.

I've recommended it to sooooo many people with eczema or psoriasis and they all loved it, It works on so many things, it is the best thing in the world for nappy rash.

If you do decide to get some you should be able to get it in any health food shop or asian food store and you should look for the virgin or extra virgin (unlike olive oil there really is no such thing as 'extra' virgin coconut oil so there is no difference between the 2 of those' and if you have a few health shops near you then please do shop around as it can vary between €5 to around €12 depending on where you get it.

It is solid in the jar and turns to oil when you rub it in, there are seriously so many uses for it that if you find you don't like it for eczema you can use it for something else, you can cook with it for example....great for stir frys and has a lot of health benefits for an oil, boosts your immune system and metabolism. There are actually so many benefits to injesting it that it's recommended people even eat it off the spoon if they don't cook with oil.

I also use it in my hair as a treatment, melt some in the microwave and then put loads into dry hair, leave it overnight and wash out

You can probably tell i'm in love with coconut oil :D

Tayla you are a star for all that information thanks a million. I went and got some today, i rang the health food store they wanted 15.50 for 500g so rang asian store and they only wanted 2.95  so even if it doesnt work i didnt spend loads on it.

Thanks a million again and ill let you know how i fair out, im going to try it out tonight!
