That sounds like a waffle but I once had a car with the front bumper stuck on with glue and it passed so you could be right.

Probably depends on the person checking.

Spare wheel isn't needed, rust is fine if it's not structural or jagged edged, should have failed on the horn.

Sounds like exaggerated BS to me.

and the airbag wiring. its not a spoof anyway the guy isnt a boy racer he is genuinely sound and the things listed are true. its a bit of a farce

What do you mean by no bonnet release? As in it can't be closed? Doubt any NCT tester would pass that, same to the airbag.

Yeah I have a friend who's car pulls VERY strongly to the left when you drive it, as in you can take your hands off the wheel to turn into an estate... it's passed the NCT a number of times

What do you mean by "no airbag wireing"? As in it's not wired up? They cant really check for that.

the wire thats connected to the lever inside to the catch on the bonnet isnt there. he has to open it with a pliers to shift the latch to the side.
the previous owner had ripped out all the airbag wiring and put in a 'racing' one, this guy put the stock one back in but nothings connected.

so how did the tester open the bonnet?

I call sheanigans so. theres no way the tester couldnt open the bonet, then went and got a pliers and fiddled around till he figured out how to open it.

but you see, having witnessed him having to do this only yesterday.... and the guy has no brain in him when it comes to anything mechanical so i doubt he fixed it himself and got the cable for it overnight

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Doesn't have to be there. The tester must have found another way to open it, probably by pulling the lever from the front of the bonnet

As long as the airbag light comes on and then switches off with the ignition, the car passes. The NCT don't actually check if the airbag is working ;)

even if theres no wiring would the light still come and go?

    That sounds crazy...

i doubt whoever took it out just yanked the cables, most likely they put in a relay or somethign else to maintain continuity and make the car think the airbag is still there.

You actually have any faith in NCT testers? If they can fail cars in perfect condition, I don't see why they couldn't fcuk it up the other way round too.

I don't see them pr1cking about with a pliers to open a bonnet to be honest :)

I've generally found them to be more than fair.
