Guys does anyone know, can you set up a paypal acount without a credit card? Can someone set one up to get money paid into the account, and then simply buy other things online with that money?

Also, do PayPal take laser at all - or will they ever?
    Thanks

You don't need a credit card for Paypal, but it is the easiest way to use it. You can transfer money from your bank account to Paypal, but it can take a week for the funds to go through. You'll need Internet banking and to set up Paypal as a beneficiary.

Transferring money from one Paypal account to another, in order to spend from the 2nd one, would be a waste of money.

Paypal don't accept Laser, and probably never will. Laser is dead anyway as all the banks are dropping it. Pretty soon, AIB will be the only bank that haven't gone to Visa debit.

Ok thanks. What I really need to know is, if someone does not have a credit card or a paypal account, can they set up a paypal account - not to buy - but to accept money from someone else? Can someone else send them money to that account, without a bank account or credit card registered - but still get the money transferred as credit into their paypal account?

If that can be done, can this person simply go to amazon or whatever, and make a purchase, to spend the money they have in credit in their paypal account?

    Thanks

I don't think any of the other posters understand your question. Yes you can so what you want to do. People cqn sens you money and it will be held in your account and then you can spend that. Enjoy!!!

Yes, but that person will pay fees for receiving the money. Once funds are in the account, they can be spent anywhere that accepts Paypal. If you don't verify the Paypal account, then restrictions will apply to the amount that can be received/spent.

You don't need to register any account with Paypal to use it, as you send money to Paypal from your bank account if you wish to fund it this way. You cannot fund Paypal payments directly from a bank account (only a credit or Visa debit card), and registering an account with Paypal is for withdrawing funds.
