Hi, I was just wondering if Universities in Ireland and Britain exchange information with each other regarding an applicant. I'm hopefully going back to uni to study as a mature student to study in the UK I already have an honours degree from Ireland but it is totally unrelated to what I want to study now, will I have to provide the original transcripts for my previous degree to my new uni? If not, if i get my transcripts from my previous degree and send them on, will the University that I am applying to call my old uni and check them up? Do they also call to check up your Leaving Certificate results even if you send them a copy of it?
    Cheers for your help:)

Generally you'd only have to provide a transcript of the degree you already have if you're relying on it to get you in. If it's another undegrad course and competition isn't so fierce that you're going to rely on already having a degree to get you through, they won't ask to see it.

In relation to checking the results, they usually ask for original documents to avoid anyone 'tinkering' with them to inflate their grades. So no they don't seek clarification of the grades, but they do ask for original proof of them.
