Eirtext Pro

    I'm having problems with Eirtext Pro. When I try to send a text I get the following -" Login failed. Please check your account details and that your provider's website is accessible. "
    My details check out and I can send texts via Vodafone. Any suggestions, Vinnie?

    This happens to me the odd time - kill the app in the multitasking bar and start it again - all should be fine.

    pansyflower, if the above doesn't work, it's also worth checking that you can log in to Vodafone.ie and send a webtext on the iPhone itself (I'm not clear on whether you've tried that already).

    If that doesn't help, start a topic over at http://support.appsandwich.com and we'll troubleshoot from there.

    Bigfella, what's the multitasking bar - the bar at the bottom of the screen?
    If so, that didn't fix it.

    to get the multitasking bar, double-click the home button (on the bottom of the phone, the one with the white square). The screen slides upwards and a bar appears at the bottom with all your open apps on it. Note that if you're already in EirText Pro you won't see Eirtext pro on this list. You need to close Eirtext pro first and then get the multitasking bar back.

    Hold your finger down on the eirtext pro icon in the multitasking bar until a red circle with a - appears on the left top corner. Click the red circle. The app disappears from the bar. It's now deactivated. Click the area above the bar to get back into the apps screen. Open eirtext pro again and see how you get on.

    Nope.. It'll look like you will be charged, but once you buy, it won't charge. Assuming you use same app store account ;)

    I haven't been able to access the Vodafone site for a while so rang them today in case the fault lies with them.
    They say the site has been down for a few days and they can't access it themselves either.

    My Eirtext pro is not working and has not worked since August. I have only ever managed to send two 'Free' texts from my webtext bundle through the application. These have effectively cost me £3.99p, the cost of purchasing the App through iTunes. This appears to be an ongoing problem for a lot of others as there are many posts on this subject on various boards and forums. Despite following all of the tips and suggestions which are online,the application remains unuseable. I have contacted its developer Vinny Coyne over the past couple of months several times to ask for a fix or a refund. I have had one reply to date which was ineffective and vague. He appears not to be interested in 'after sales service'. Very disappointing indeed. I will contact iTunes next.

    I'd doubt the issue is down to the app itself. I use it on my work phone and encounter occasional issues, I also have a personal android phone which I have trouble using apps like cabbage with sometimes. Any time I've hap problems sending messages from Eirtext Pro or Cabbage it's either been an issue with vodafone.ie or else with data on my phone. Sometimes disabling and enabling data gets the apps working again.

    IMHO the vodafone.ie website is very flakey and unreliable and causes knock on issues for the apps. Is Vodafone your provider?

    Your app most likely stopped working as the network you are on has changed their website. I have had ZERO issues using EirText Pro on Vodafone and previously Meteor

    Thank you for your response. I have disabled and reinstated my online account with O2 and everything appears to be working with them as I can send a webtext through O2. Yet despite this, the problem still persists and I cannot send a text through Eirtext Pro. I am still receiving a message 'Log in failed. Please check your account details and that your providers website is accessible'.

    I take customer support very seriously. Please visit the support forum if you ever have any issues with EirText. There may be issues reported here or on other forums, but I can't be everywhere at all times.
