PS3 System freezing on Firing Range

Last few days my PS3 started freezing when Firing Range is loading.

It freezes during map load screen, and only solution is to restart the whole system. It happens every time this map is picked. Very annoying.

Also noticed system started freezing when I'm using the net, i.e. project free tv. This doesn;t happen that often though.

ANy ideas what could be causing it?

Thats been happening to me the past few days, but it's for Havana and Launch ><

No idea what the problem is, the disk seems fine.

it's a pain, there doesn't seem to be any option to reinstall maps or anything either:mad:

strange i would have said disk straight off the bat. thats what was happening in my case anyway. did ps3 update recently i wonder ?

might be the disc i suppose, i do take care of it though and can't see any damage.

try a friends game and see if its any better . try loading them offline in a private game or combat training . for me it was grid and the loading screen would go up . the white bar would start filling up but when it got around 3 quarters of the way there it would stop and just sit there loading constantly with no way out but to dashboard or switch it off

Ditto. Albeit it only happened a couple of times earlier in the week. But seemingly the game crashed.

this was a while back for me though . and was very very obviously ring burn although it was only in one small area it was just to perfect an angle to be anything else . the newer disk which is fully installed doesnt have the same problem . one thing im thinking is that ps3 are all installed before you can play them so maybe the disk isnt the problem

That's what i think as well, so it doesn;t really make sense.

Is there anyway of reinstalling the whole game?

Clear your system cache that correlates to black ops.

Then play the game. It should ask you for a wad of updates just click ok and wait.

I can bet that what's wrong is to do with a corrupt file somewhere in your cache, and not the actual disc itself.

Happens alot of people.

Nope just make sure you read what you're deleting.

Some idiots tend to delete saved games from the likes of Assassins Creed, and other games that they've spent years getting haha.

New disc i think.

rent a copy out of xtravision or borrow a friends copy and see if it happens in the same place, have you tried a private game and see if firing range loads up.

Private matches cause it to freeze too. Gotta borrow a friends copy soon, although to be honest I haven't Played Blops in like a week,

Summit started freezing up on me yesterday. Was in a party and played a good few games on every other map but each time Summit came up .......BAM fk u Gimli!

I want Summit back

I was getting bored with blops anyway, so got world at war.

Its grand but weapons are very limited.

So this morning I tried MW2, first time in maybe 3 months. It installed one update, and so far no cheaters. Fingers crossed it will last
