An ultra rare item from Robert Emmet's ill fated 1803 Rebellion is included in Whyte's Dublin sale of History, Literature & Collectibles on April 16th. The item in question, is a a rather distressed copy of the 1803 Proclamation which despite its poor condition carries an incredible estimate of €30,000 - €50,000! According to Whyte's catalogue, even possession of a copy of the proclamation could ensure a swift trip to the gallows. Hopefully it will find its way into the National Museum collection.

There are lots of other items of interest from Ireland's troubled history including weapons, militaria, uniforms and much paperwork. As usual the sale catalogue itself alone will become a collectors' item.
