Nah Discovery etc is fine althought itv2,3,4 were removed last Sunday, apparently UPC can no longer show them, so prices gp up and channels reduce, deal!

Yeah I knew that but last night all my discovery channels are missing, only had the nat geo ones!

They're replacing ITVs channels with something else. ITV weren't interested in renewing the contract

If you are in Charlesland UPC cannot transmit all the channels they offer as the signal strength isn't high enough. So if you are on the max package you about 20 channels less but still get charged the same.

Thats the BS I was fed by UPC anyway.

I'm in Charlesland, not on the Max package (I think it's the middle one) and I have a lot more than 20 channels. Wouldn't go so far as to count them but it's at least 50.

Mind you... Still SFA on on a Wednesday night!

I think blandpebbles means that if you have UPC in Greystones you get 20 less channels than Dublin i.e. Dublin getting say 100 channels, Greystones getting 80 channels...but really only less than 20 are worth having!:D

I looked at ITV2 and its says Channel no longer available and the next programme it says 'Batman Begins' is due to start at 1am!!! Quite odd so I went to the Guide to see what else is on after and the Guide is completely blank.

What really gets my wick is the wasted channel space by UPC when we are limited by channel numbers on the MMDS service in Greystones:

    119: ITV2 (as above)
782: Sky Three (although it has never been on MMDS in Greystones)
    783: LivingTV+1
    784: Living TV
    785: MTV Shows
    786: SKy Christmas
    787: Discovery Knowledge
    799: Hallmark

Last but not least Channel 428: MUTV - it's still broadcasting; they could easily just replace that with a more exciting channel like QVC :p

    -. . ...- . .-. / --. --- -. -. .- / --. .. ...- . / -.-- --- ..- / ..- .--.

Anyone elses tv cutting up badly with occasional 'there appears to be no signal' messages?

Yes, it's atrocious, and thank you for posting this because otherwsie UPC will give the usual BS about sending out an engineer et.

e-mail them and link to this so they can't contend it is an issue per user when it's obviously their signal. Seems like good weather = rubbish NTL.

Happening here in the west too, on MMDS in county Sligo. Only last month upgraded to Max package. But have noticed since the ITV story & the channels going off signal that ESPN Classic is no longer on the epg list. I could have sworn it was there???? It isnt now. Am I wrong?

ITV has been removed because ITV didn't want to renew the contract with UPC
