    Hi,
I have been using a canon D60 for years and need to transfer my data to a new laptop. I have downloaded the canon software (solution disk).
    Unfortunately I have some problems:
    1) Zoombrowser will not open (it says "Zoombrowser Ex is currently opened by a different user, You will have to switch Users and close ZoomBrowser EX, before continueing." when I try and use desktop icon)
    2) The camera will not successfully install when connected to the laptop?

    Any suggestions appreciated

PS if in wrong form I hope the mods move this

Do you have admin rights on your laptop?

What OS are you using? Maybe your version of the Canon software isn't supported on newer versions of Windows.

Could you not just use a card reader?

Is the new laptop's OS 64 bit?

I am using Windows 7, and as far as I know it is 64 bit, though this means little to me

Funny I never thought older software would not be supported, but that is my ignorance.

    My OS is Windows 7.

My card reader also does not seem to work, but anyway I would like Zoombrowser as it is how I have my photos (very many), organised for viewing

Typically Windows is highly backwards compatible, often to a fault.
I've had no real issues with running old software on it, even 64bit.

I'm surprised that your card reader does not work. Is this with a particular card or with any card?

    Anyhoo there's an update here:
    http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0037973.asp?model=
    Download and start this updater.
Insert the CD-ROM (DIGITAL CAMERA Solution Disk) into the computer's drive.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
