    Hey Guys,

Moving to killorglin, kerry next week for six months for work. No internet at the moment at the house im going to. Really want to bring the PS3 with me for sanity. What would be the best option for online gaming considering there is nothing there at the moment.

    irish broadband 4mb breeze ?

    Cheers

Pretty much anything that's good enough for gaming will have a 12 month contract, certainly Breeze will (i you can still get it). Don't know if you'll have any real options at all.

Aye, the 2mb breeze worked fine for me for years solid reliable connection, never an issue... I'd recommend it for a fixed wireless service anyways, don't have it anymore though.

12 mo contract and 50 quid as far as I remember for the 4mb but it might not be available since they're trying to flog their imagine wimax to every Tom, Richard and Harry

check for a few fixed wireless if landline/cable roadband isnt an option if not, since its 6 months maybe mobile dongles will suffice, not sure who has 6 month contracts

recently got a 3 modem router myself and it works ok for me

So let's say I sign up for breeze. Can I just bring it back to limerick after 6 months

Not fully sure but don't see why not once it was available in both areas and it all checks out aok

Do ye reckon that breeze is good enough for ps3. I'll give Irish broadband a shout tomorrow

You need to find out what is actually available first, as Breeze is not available in Killorglin.

Mobile dongles would probably be the way to go if its for 6 months and theres not many fixed services... a meteor broadband stick with an ethernet connection to your ps3 for example would be fine, used to do with with an xbox and its was grand

    Sorry for all the questions.

You could get a 3g dongle, and connectify it to your ps3 if you have a laptop or pc.

gonna have to go with the dongle.... kerry broadband need to go up on the chimney and run cable.....

You'll need to go there and check it out for yourself then. There is no way to know up front what might work for you on the 3G networks. Even then, there may be no consistency.

Thats how the breeze system works, and any fixed wireless for that matter...

Prob just have to get a dongle, you could always just go there and find out what network has the best signal for 3g enabled phones... 3, Meteor, o2 and Vodafone etc... then let that be some sort of judgement for whatever dongle you may choose

For eg. Ive a meteor and 3 broadband here and the meteor recieves far better signal and service

Once you have a laptop and an internet connection on it, the ps3 can be enabled via that. Not the prettiest of ways to do it but, it works

connectify would also work aok, there's similar apps for phones too... i used to tether my mobile to my laptop for internet...
