Taxing a car

    Hi ive goten a car it is out of tax a while i have the log book and i m going to send it off myself can i go down to the tax office my self with the log book and tax the car tomorow and just give them the log book to send of ?

    i dont want to be driveing around with no tax while im waiting on the log book to come back to me.

    For the benefit of the doubt, take a taxi to the motor tax office.

    You can indeed.
    In fact you don't need the actual logbook itself, just certain details about the car i.e. make, model, colour, reg number and chassis number. These can got directly from the car itself even if you never saw the logbook.

    I'm pretty sure you'll need the completed cert to not have to pay the back tax
