Hey guys im not sure if this is the right forum or not, tried to put it in the marketing forum but it was closed so please move it if it needs to be moved! :)

Im doing a college project based around competitions, does any one know what the laws on this are in Ireland... Ive found articles on the UK rules but Google is not my friend today.

For example I have found this http://www.out-law.com/page-6780

If any one knows of any articles that give an overview of the basic rules and pitfalls I would appreciate it hugely if you could post them up!!

    Thanks in advance!

Basics would be to have clear rules, clear terms and conditions and that it must a game of skill. The skill element is necessary as otherwise it may become a lottery which is illegal.

Thanks for that the element of skill is something which seems to be true of UK law also.

Just after I posted I managed to find this http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/JELR/Pages/Gaming_and_lotteries which refers to The Gaming and Lotteries Acts 1956–2003 so I think I have enough to get on with now.

Was really just wondering if there was anything different in Irish law, and also if a competition is online do the same rules such as distance selling apply or is there anything else I should know.
