We just put a radiator back on after decorating, this was downstairs. Now all the upstairs radiators only warm at the bottom.
When I bleed them nothing comes out, air or water..
There's plenty of water in the tank in the attic.

    What's the problem???

    Thanks.

As in theres plenty of water in the Small expansion tank in the attic , NOT the big tank .
If you have a small expansion tank and its not filling system then you have a airlock where the cold feed from it enters the system .

If theres no expansion tank in attic then its a sealed system with a fill valve usually in hot press or by boiler if there is ensure pressure doesnt go up to high between 1 and 2 bar is fine

Yes, plenty of water in the small tank.

How do you get rid of the airblock?

what you need to do is take out the vent in the radiator and stick a neddle or something as small as, into where the vent goes into the radiator. the air shiud start coming out after you do that. I say its only a piece of dirt blocking the air fromcoming out..

Thats wrong advice read his post All his upstairs rads are only heating at the bottom , i doubt all of them have blocked vents.

And to get rid of the airlock you need to follow the cold feed pipe from the expansion tank down to where it joins the heating system , the usual way is to open nut on the joint most of the way and try and pull the cold feed pipe out if successful you should hear a rush of air then water, if you dont get air or water undo the nut completely and pull pipe out of joint but be immediately ready to reinsert in as you should get water quickly. , close the joint again , it may be handy to have a few towels under where you working .
You may have to repeat this once or twice to be successful

If your not sure of what your doing get a pro in , you could easily cause water damage if you mess this up.

sorry outkast your dead right:o. I should think before i talk!!

yes its an air lock or a valve not opened fully or a non return valve not letting through. If you know what your at you may have to open the cold fed pipe entering the heating system and see if your getting full bore through it or ring a plumber..
