    Hi all,

I'm a long term member of the boards photo forum (with a different username) and recently I've started dabbling with a bit of website hokery pokery and started putting together an automatic photo post processing website. Its really really rough and ready at the moment, but I'd love to hear any feedback you might have

At the moment its just a cross processing effect, but I intend to pad it out and clean it up over the next week or two with a lot more effects.

And if anyone has particular effects they'd like to see I'd love to hear about them - maybe high quality noise reduction? hdr? bleach bypass?

the website is www.PureRGB.com - just upload a jpeg and see the results.

(It goes without saying I'm not going to interfere with your photo copyrights)

    Nervously awaiting feedback! gulp!

You would be much better off explicitly saying that on the site.

The frontend is way too bare. You need to at least gives before and after examples and some explanation of the processes.

Thanks for the feedback Tricky D - I've put up the usage terms on the main page now and I've made some small visual improvements to the main page.

Really appreciate the feedback! Any other thoughts?

Have you thought about making it as an iphone app?

Well as a website within a browser it should currently work with Android phones and tablets. I don't think you can upload photos from the "gallery" to a website in iphone/ipad yet (please correct me ifI'm wrong in that regard!). Overall though it would need a different website layout specifically for mobile devices.

Next processing feature up tomorrow is a bleach bypass effect, which is one I love from Lightroom 3. After that maybe hdr or noise reduction??

Here is a sample of the noise reduction performance (results-wise its more or less ready to be released, but unfortunately its too slow currently):

Adding a high level of noise:

Result from my noise reduction processing:

That's actually quite cool. I just stuck a small jpeg up and got some interesting results. It's the kind of site I could spend a bit of time on trying different shots.

Interested to know why you've done it though.....

    Hey Pullandbang -

why have I done it ... Well personally I'd like to be able to take a photo and throw it at some s/w / website / etc and quickly get an overview of some ways I could post-process it. Effects like different b&w conversions, cross-processing, bleach bypass effects, tone-mapping, different simulated exposures, different crops/rotations, skin smoothing, vignette, etc Then either use one of results directly or merely use the process for inspiration for my own work in Photoshop or some other editor.

purergb.com is my attempt to solve my own problem, but if others find it useful they're welcome to use it for free as well. If the occasional ad is clicked along the way it'll hopefully cover the cost of my server.

I'm making alot of changes behind the scenes to it (including 16bit raw processing), which aren't fully working and/or merely prototypes such as http://www.purergb.com/view.php - but fingers crossed it might evolve into something useful (at least for myself!)
