Anybody know of any carhire companies that dont ask you to leave the deposit of the insurance excess which is sometimes up to 1000euro? We're going to be in Spain for 1 month and will need to use a prepay credit card as we dont have one ourselves. However we simply would not have the finances to top up with an extra thousand. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Only way would be to rent a car and take out insurance with the company to reduce the excess to zero.

    Significantly more expensive though.

theres 3rd party insurance companies which insure the excess (only 60 euro a year or something small).
    NOW...
whether the car hire would accept this as a gurantee is a good question.

maybe you should post this in motors or travel as theres loads there that I am sure would have had the same problem
