    hi

just need advice on designing garden area
it is currently made up of concrete (in need of repair) and grass area
We are looking to take up the concrete and lay some nice paving slabs/stones
the grass area is ruined by our dog - 1ft deep holes and no matter how often i've sowed grass seeds the grass doesn't grow effectively and there are patches
i thought about putting down rubber mats in this area as we have baby (soon will be walking) and at present i couldn't let him walk in garden due to holes.
Has anyone got these rubber mats ? Will they stop my dog from digging?
The fact that the grass can grow through the holes appeals to me and the rubber seems quite thick that my dog would have a hard times digging through it (plus the mesh underneath).
    Appreciate comments.

    TA:)
