Co2 inflaters

Was in the local bike shop today and I saw co2 for inflating tires after a puncture. Are these any good?
Never seen them but I was tempted to get one and do away with the small hand pump as it's only good to get you home.

Would they be ok to use? Anybody have any experience with them?

They are excellent, but to be safe you really need to carry a pump and patch kit in case of multiple punctures.

The advantage is not carrying less kit, it's fixing a puncture in seconds rather than minutes.

Cool. Patch kit would never be left behind. Made that mistake once and never again. Will have to pick one up :)

Excellent. Have only had to use once. Something that inflats your tire in about a second, with 5km remaining during 70km cycle, and it starting to rain is alright by me.

Only tip OP, get one with a regulator to control the pressure and with a molded or a rubber sheath to prevent freeze burns from the canister.

A 16g cartridge should be just right to inflate a 700x23 tyre to about 110psi. Larger tyres will inflate to lower pressures. On that basis, I wouldn't bother with a regulator.

+1 on the rubber sheath (or wear your gloves while inflating)
