    Hi all,
Heading to Barcelona...was wondering if anyone can recommend a nice hotel in the city. Somewhere quiet at night and close to everything?

    Thanks!

i would recommend down near the port olympic.its not smack bang in the city centre ie noise but its beside the beach theres loads of pubs and attractions and its only a ten minute bus or taxi ride... or metroride to las ramblas. the hotels near the shopping centre av. diagnol mar might be a bit cheaper again its across from the beach and its a bus or taxi into the centre.

Stayed at the Condes De Barcelona 2 years ago, stunning hotel! About 10 mins walk from Las Ramblas. Very quiet area, lots of places to eat!

Depends on budget and what sort of experience you're listening to. At the long-term, cheap end, there are some lovely apartments in the Gracia district where you can get a real city flavour - it's quiet and trendy and interesting. You could stay in a budget style hotel like Gat Xino and its sister hotel, not more than 5 minutes from Las Ramblas/Placa Catalunya. Otherwise, if it's high-end you want, try any deals going on www.hotels.com or www.booking.com. Always been happy with their lots.

I stayed at hotel Lleo, excellent location, around the corner from Ramblas but very quiet and clean. Quite dated though.
Some of my family have stayed in Hotel Jazz which is just across the road and highly recommend, much more modern and location is brilliant if you want to be close to shops and transport links.
If you have time, try to find Bar 13, tiny and slightly dodge looking but the best cocktails I have tasted, ever! (can't remember address, just stumbled upon it, and out of it!)

I've used cocoonbarcelona.com a few times for booking apartments, would recommend them if you go the apartment route. Barcelona is a huge city, but everything is still within easy reach. What is the main thing you are looking to do when you are there?

Hostal Goya - www.hostalgoya.com - (not a hostel despite the name) has a great location near Catalunya and is excellent value.
