    Hi guys,

Bought some stuff online - decided 5 mins later I'd like to cancel the order and buy some of it at a later time.

I emailed them to cancel it, they said no orders can be cancelled once placed. I said fine, can I not accept it and just let it be returned to them? They said they don't accept returns?

    Is this legal?

    Thanks

    http://ec.europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/shopping/online-shopping/returning-unwanted-goods/index_en.htm

however, i think this excludes good bought at auction and goods bought outside the EU.
also, i am not sure but i think some websites give you the option to opt out of the cooling off period.

It will depend on where this website is based - outside EU (USA, China, etc) you've almost no protection.

Also, if it's ebay, auctions are not covered.

    Where did you buy from?

Yea it was the US unfortunately - does that mean theres absolutely nothing I can do? Seems a bit ridiculous? If I just didn't accept the package and it got sent back, would they not have to refund me?

What website are you using? It's very illegal if they are within the EU.

Nope, they wouldn't have to refund you. You entered in to a contract and then just changed your mind. Not their fault, and totally yours. So, in that situation, they are entitled to keep the money.

Your best bet - accept the product, and see if you can sell it on, on ebay or adverts.ie
