solid fuel stove with external air intake

    hello everyone
im putting in a solid fuel back boiler stove and i was wondering has anyone installed one with an external intake?is it only in cases of extremely air tight houses these are needed as they cant get enough air to burn from inside.also i suppose it makes sense not to have the warm house air going up the chimney, but they are a good bit more expensive to buy up to 40% compared to one with a normal air intake.
any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

There is a limited availability of solid fuel units with external air, wood-burning would be more avaliable at present but there are more models becoming available as the demand increases. The price depends on the manufacturer and generally they would be more expensive units due to a higher quality, but it also comes down to the cost of development of the external air system.
There is a company that is bringing out an external air feed at present with no increase in the unit price other than the cost of the air feed kit itself.
