How long to wait after an interview before calling prospective employer

I had an interview last Monday and was told that they would let me know on Thursday but I haven't heard from them since I know they may not have made up their mind yet but was wondering how long I should wait before calling them to see if they have made a decision or not I was thinking maybe the end of the week but don't want to appear too pushy. But I would like to know one way or another!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there
I've been there, and I'd say to you, since it's been over a week, maybe tomorrow you could drop the a mail saying you have other job offers on hold, but this one is the preferred one, so you were just wondering if they had an idea re the timeframe for feedback.
Nothing wrong in showing interest and that you are keen on the job; not saying to call them the day after the interview, but it's been over a week now, it is only legitimate.
Do bear in mind that a lot of recruiters are not bothered giving feedback, in case they have decided not to hire you (which I find extremely disrespectful and unprofessional!).
    Good luck!

I would definitely send them an email, especially since they said they would let you know last Thursday.
At this stage, I wouldn't think it would make much of a difference to whether you get the job or not but at least you'd know.

Nah, google would be like 14 interviews or so ;)

Personally, any more than two interviews is HR bulls**t.

Might depend on the role, I know someone who had 7 interviews, and not all in Ireland either.

I did 6 with them, then they told me to come back in about 5 months for another one, I smiled and nodded and thanked them and said I would (as sincerely as I could without laughing).
