Changing to a SKY+ box

    Hoping I can get an answer here as I forgot to ring them today. I have a subscription with one sky box and one sky+ box. Was hoping to get a sky+ box downstairs now as a gift to the mammy, just wondering if anyone knows how much they'd charge for a sky+ box plus installation. Also, will it effect my monthly charge at all?

    I will be ringing them tomorrow anyway but I'm under pressure to provide answers so any help would be great.

    If you already have a sky+ box,the next one you order from Sky is charged at €199,have a look on adverts.ie for one and get an independant installer to put it in if you can't do it yourself (2 cables run to the box)
    Is the new plus box intended to replace the standard box? If not you'll need an octo lnb as you only have 1 connection left on your current lnb.
    If it is gona be a 3rd box then order an extra card from sky and pair it with the box.

    Yeah new box is to replace the standard box. I assume the installation is pretty simple if I'm just replacing the standard box, just move the cables from one box to another etc? Sure I could figure it out anyway.

    you will need another cable from the lnb to the sky box, (if you want to be able to record one station and watch another)

    Your monthly charge may not be effected it depends on what packages you subscribe to at the moment.

    We upgraded our box last year and our monthly charge did not go up but that was because we subscribed to the movie channels already. Check with them as their monthly tarrifs have been changing all over the place the last year or so.
