    Hi Folks,

Probably the wrong thread but the closest I could think was filtering which made me think photography. I'm looking for plastic that will only pass IR light. Its the same material on the top of your remote control. Looks dark to the eye but infrared passes straight through. Looking for a large sheet(s) of it.

Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated.

have a look at rosco or lee, i think they do rolls of gels, you'd be looking for a specific red gel, I highly doubt youd get the correct ir gel in large size tbh, had a quick look there and nothing came up, possibly make it up of some from a very dark red and layer a blue one over it.

has nice results... but this is from a photography angle, not sure what your use is, if its more than that and you need specific ir, will probably not work.

IR filters are fairly pricey, so I can't imagine large sheets of it would be any way reasonable. You might be able to improvise by finding a very dark red sheeting that would block the majority of the visible spectrum though.

Cheers folks. I'll see what I can get. Maybe extremely dark red theatre gels?
