6 yrs driving, 1 car, 0.16 cars per year :pac:

    More silly stats:
73,000 miles, 34 miles per day avg.
73,000/191000 = 38% of the total mileage on the car is mine.
Total servicing cost = 600 euro inc. tyres = 27cents per day, or a euro every 122 miles.

Not trying to be smart, but the OP should have done a search for the other 3 or 4 threads that are the same as this and posted in the newest one.

Over the past 10 years I have had 8 cars, most of which were replaced through necessity rather than choice :o

Ford Escort - clutch went so car was write off

Skoda Fabia - stolen from outside my house

Renault 5 - £100 car to get me back on road while I decided on new car

Rover 25 - head gasket went twice, exhaust (3 sections) water pump and finally battery - traded it in for

Hyundai Accent - brought back to dealer after a week for refund as was blowing black exhaust when car was warmed up (?) before I brought it back some yob knocked off the drivers wing mirror.

Kia Shuma (I loved this car) - written off when a car pulled out in front of me :(

Renault Laguna - This car became the bane of my life and led to my mechanic finally telling me to give up on cars and buy a push bike.
In 8 months I had to replace 8 tyres, the battery, the exhaust, a suspension spring snapped while I was overtaking a truck on the A38 in the UK and nearly led to me flipping the car, a fuel pipe leaked over the alernator and blew the alternator, there was an oil leak in the manifold somewhere, the bottom cover of the engine fell off, the head lights went and cost me stupid money to replace as halfords didn't stock them for my model... the list goes on but I'm getting upset rememberong it now.
I sold that car on ebay, it was bought by a Polish guy who flew to the UK to pick it and he drove it back to Poland :D

Currently driving a mondeo which, touch wood has only needed a service.

My friends get great mirth at my luck with cars. My luck is so bad that when I had a hire car last year while my renault was in for repair, the hire car was hit by a bin truck while it was parked

My apologies for that, I've edited my post to reflect this.

Why would someone need to start a new thread if there's a number of them open already?

    Anyway, I feel like I'm back-seat modding but I'm only saying ;)

Would it not depend on how old the threads found in the search are? Bumping necro threads is also frowned upon.

Fair enough,i just dont get why it would bother anyone what question is asked. After all its a forum for discussion and a bit of banter.

Hence why I said the newest one and I'm fairly certain the best one to post in was started in 2007 and is still going due to it being posted in regularly since then ;)

    EDIT: Here it is!

Yeah it's a forum for discussion, not for littering ;)

I don't mean to sound like an a-hole but this is just the way this forum (and many others) work.

Currently on number 10, I'm 30, first car at 18. Also had a company car for a year but that's not one of the 10. Longest was 5 years, shortest was 3 months I think.

For example, I made a list of all the cars i've owned in the last thread. It took a little while, and i'm not bothered doing it all again for no good reason. If the last thread had been resurrected then I wouldn't have had to. See?:)
