Ford Mondeo 2001 1.8 Engine Light

I have a Ford Mondeo 2001 1.8 petrol, the Engine Light came on about a week ago. I didnt have time to bring it to a garage so I kept driving it (only about 50 miles in all). Anyway, I parked it up for the weekend Friday night and when I started it up on Sunday the light was gone off . Now I thought it would probably come back on but Ive driven about 200 mile since start up on Sunday and its still off, anyone any ideas what it could be?

I thought it may just be a faulty sensor? There was no performance change that I noticed, could it have been a case that a sensor was just dirty or something?

I'll bring it to a garage later and get it checked up, just thought Id ask here 1st, Cheers

The engine management light in an Almera resets itself after a certain number of starts of the car without the fault re-occurring*. Maybe that's what happened?

*Hilariously, our one likes to do this when the mechanic turns off the ignition to connect the computer to find out what's wrong with the horrid thing.

Still any issues with the light? I have the same car - 01 Petrol. Light has been coming on and off for the past 4 years. The mechanic suggested that it could be the inlet manifold (known for issues with this model up to 2002/03). I personally think it might be the fuel as the car just seems to be heavier on fuel when the light is on.

Hope the problem is not more serious. let me know
