Switching Problem

    Hi,
I've tried changing my standard tariff over to the supersaver one and when I get to the direct debit section I get an error saying that the bank account details are incorrect.

The sort code is detected properly and the address is filled in, however it reports incorrect bank account details. The account number is the same as the one on my existing DD.

Is there a problem if the bank account is already attached to a DD?

Why do I need to go through this procedure again if I already have an ESB account? Wouldn't it be simpler if I could just change the tariff without going through all these additional hoops?
