Ever arrive at the airport and get the first plane out of there?

What's to experience? It's just like catching a pre-booked flight except that you could land anywhere in the world, might get charged a fortune and may not have the right visa to even enter whatever country you land in.

Lovely idea if you're very rich.

Personally I wouldn't want to spend €1000 if the person sitting next to me paid €100.

not exactly the first plane out... but i have rocked up to an airport not knowing exactly where i was going... I was in Vegas and my mates were flying back home via new york, i went to the airport with them and had a look at departures and decided on San Fransisco, the flight was about 2 hours later.. The cost was only $130 or there abouts... the lady behind the counter was slightly shocked at me paying for the flight in cash, lots of small bills and coins! Was a bit of fun anyway!

Yeah, know what you mean, not necessarily the first, but the first bargin flight to somewhere that sounds interesting.

My sister did this a few years ago and ended up spending 4 days in Riga, in winter, which was apparantly OK, but a bit cold.

Dublin Airport is not really a good choice for that sort of thing, since most of the destinations are in England and other un-exotic places... but if you get a cheap flight to a connecting airport (London, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Frankfurt...) and then go from there, you could hit something really good.
