I'm in early 30's and i my first wet dream in ages (years) last night.

And the thing is, it was completely un'erotic no sexual element to it at all.

It was if anything it was an upsetting dream in which i was under alot of pressure and critisim.

And I just want to know is this unusual?

I thought this just happens when you haven't ejaculated in a while so not sure if the dream matters. I've never actually had one myself :o

Also perhaps there was an erotic element you just don't remember it

There are no real links between nocturnal emissions and erotic thoughts - I believe they're only associated together because men usually don't ejaculate without having a erection, and get erections at sexual thoughts/excitement.

It could have been anything that caused it; direct stimulation in your sleep, to involuntary stimulation by the bedclothes etc, internal spasms/convulsions leading to ejactulation before settling down, heightened prostate sensitivity, lots of reasons.

The bottom line is it happens - to those in puberty and those who are not. If you are worried then obviously don't hesitate to talk to your GP.

I never actually had a wet dream. What are they like? How do they compare to normal?

Under a lot of pressure and criticism? Sounds like sex to me.

Seriously though OP. Theres a lot of plumbing down there and sometimes, it all doesn't work correctly. The important thing is, if it is in any way not normal, if its(the liquid) is a different colour to normal, if their is pain then go to your GP. If it happens again also visit the GP. Not one of us can tell you what's normal, because none of us are doctors.

Basically if it(you) feels wrong, go consult a Doctor.

To be fair regular sex or masturbation will keep the wet dreams at bay. It's prob just cos you haven't 'emptied your bag' in a while OP

You have evidence of that? Especially curious since wet dreams can occur during puberty, when young lads are (presumably) keeping their bags quite empty

Speaking personally when I started masturbating regularly in my teens I didnt have any wet dreams so Id say its true.

Also at that age the bag is never empty...

From my own experience I remember having one or two even though at that stage I was masturbating once a day at least. The Kinsey study only went so far as to say that there may be a link between the two given that those who had the highest number of nocturnal emissions masturbated with less frequency. To me this might suggest the prostate/seminal vesticle are more easily stimulated when 'full' but that's about it.

I have to agree with touching virus. I too remember having wet dreams during teens while I masturbated daily. Strange thing now though is that now im older (mid 30's) married with kids and I haven't had one in years and I still masturbate daily (maybe the though of wetting Mrs walkmans clean sheets is subconsciously keeping me under control :-) )

Yeah, I haven't had a wet dream in a long, long time! Works for me so......

That wasn't really what I was asking for, especially since I qualified it with my later post, but fair enough

I remember having this conversation in a pub with about 6 or 7 mates one night and everyone was of the same opinion, once you were ejaculating regularly it kept wet dreams at bay. I think everyone had to go back to early/mid teens for their last wet dream.

Now I know I've had plenty of dreams involving sex and it never ended in me having to change the sheets once I was regularly 'coming'.

I'm sure others are different, that's just the view I subscribe to!

I'm in my late 20's, I masturbate daily, when I'm hungover I'd often go for three or four over the course of the day, and I still have one or two wet dreams a year. I actually had the first one in about a year just last week. It involved my friends fiancée shoving her bare foot into my crotch and the randomness of this blew me away because I barely know the girl, I've never thought about her sexually, and I've not seen her or heard any mention of her whatsoever in months.

Oh and I've never had any sort of interest in feet or foot fetishes either.
