I hope someone can help please. I dont know a lot about this so the question might seem really stupid. I have a freeview box and I saw somewhere an ad for freeview +. Is this the same as Sky+ where I can record tv shows on the freeview box and if so where would I get one

Freeview/freeview+ is the UK terrestrial DTT standard and is not compatible with the Irish DTT standard - Saorview.

What do you use the freeview receiver for? Is it a satellite receiver attached to a dish or terrestrial receiver attached to an aerial on the roof?

Ok I have a skyline box if that helps. I live on the south east coast and dont have any of the Irish channels. Can I get a Saorview+ box

I assume that's a free-to-air satellite receiver attached to a satellite dish with the UK channels.

Saorview is the new Irish DTT service which will give you the Irish channels, an aerial and compatible TV or STB required. The service will officially launch at the end of May, trial service at the moment. There are no Saorview+ PVRs available yet or none announced that I know of yet.

Regarding the satellite channels there are a number of freesat+ PVRs available. You will require two feeds from the existing dish for the PVR receiver operate fully i.e. watch one, record one. See the list of available freesat+ PVRs an the right hand column of the page - http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/.
