Hi does anyone know the typical voltage range seen on BMW / Bosch MAFs?

I was looking at an e90 318i earlier, it had DTCs set for MAF out of range. The MAF was reading back ok on the pc when I connected to it. The oil filler cap seemed to be slightly loose (car had recent oil change). if un-metered air was getting in via the oil filler could it cause the MAF dtc?

They do run badly when the oil filler cap is loose as the crankcase pressure is reduced, therefore the pressure for the air recirculation is effected. It may well throw a fault with the maf if left long enough.

There are little arrows on the filler cap to line it up so it closes properly.

Thanks ND, I have the voltages when the dtc occured (0.89, 0.74 & 0.69). I was thinking even if all the air came via the oil filler the MAF shouldn't go out of range, unless they are doing a sanity check of voltage against rpm.

If it was run for say > 50 miles with the oil filler cap loose, could it mess up the MAF adaptions? It seems to be idling fine, but seems to be a slight hessitation under load.
