Did anyone get the letter from Vodafone to renew their mobile broadband?
Do they cut me off if i don't renew?
Can I go to a vodafone shop and pick up the new modem of do i have to do it over the phone?

What is there to renew? It doesn't stop unless you cancel, and there is nothing to renew. There's no need to get a new modem unless the one you have is broken.

Perhaps you are out of contract now and free to move to another supplier and they want to tie you down to another contract?
If so it's either a good time to see what else is out there or to try and get a deal from Vodafone for renewing your contract.

What kind of deal could the offer though? I would guess the letter is about a new modem, but this is a waste of time and money on your part, as a new modem will do nothing. They're trying to tie you into a new contract, which is something you don't need.

Ignore the letter and keep using the service as is. If it's working adequately, then there's no need to change anything.

That sounds a bit like burying your head in the sand if you ask me. There's no harm in seeing what Vodafone will try to entice you with to stay with them or what other operators have to offer in comparison. He doesn't need to do anything but it is good to stay informed.

I don't think they're looking for more money or anything. I think it's a free modem upgrade. Not too sure though.

You'll need to decide whether it's worth getting it as you are likely to be tied down to another 12/18 month contract though. At the moment you are free to go.

How so? I'm asking what would they offer, as I don't see that there is anything worth the customer's time in taking.

They seem to be offering a new modem, which as I've said, is pointless.

Not really an upgrade, as all the modems will do the pretty much the same thing. Unless your modem is broken, or there are serious problems with your connection, then an upgrade is pointless. The only thing you are getting is a new 12 month contract, which you don't need or want.

If there are problems with your current connection, then a new modem may do nothing anyway. The vast majority of issues on 3G networks will be down to the network itself, and a new modem will do nothing to resolve that.

Unless there is a significant price reduction, don't do anything. I would doubt that this will be on the cards though, the cost is already as low as it can economically go.
