The video here shows the problem at hand: link . The BBU is fine i checked it and nothing is broken. I am using a recently purchased marui 1911a1 magazine and using Cybergun Extreme Blowback APS-3 gas. Everything seems to be working ie. the trigger mech and BBU but it just wont fire properly. Funny part is it works when its upside down.I don't know if this is normal but you can see the red ring in the pics. It also seems to be leaking alot of gas. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Looks like a leaf/sear spring problem to me. It looked as if the hammer wasn't being held by the spring, meaning you've to cock it back each time. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what it looks like to me

no the leaf spring is fine. The problem is that the recoil doesn't push all the way back hence not cocking the hammer. It might look like it has on the video but its just an illusion i guess.

TM 1911,s mostly have plastic or lightweight slides with mag valves designed to work best for them. Me thinks the KJW,s heavy duty slide it too much for mag to push

Aye very possible - it was hard to tell due to the frame rate of the video. So basically each time you pull the trigger, the slide is not cycling?

That happens in most pistols due to cool down i.e. drop in pressure of the gas. .22Lover's suggestion as to the slides weight may have merit.

When you say it's leaking gas, do you mean the mag, or just that the gun is venting a lot?

yes thats it. it wont cycle properly and I meant venting gas as the mag itself doesn't leak. I will try a CO2 mag because the slide is heavier so i can't disagree. Will report back on how that goes.

When you hold the gun upside down liquid gas is released into the gas chamber, not evaporated as usual, this increases the pressure allowing the gun to cycle. That could be why it works upside down, and the magazine may be pressed against the gas chamber better.

Make sure you are holding mags upside down when you fill them, I don't know if you are doing that but its worth checking. As this can cause low pressure gas in the magazine.

Also, why use TM mags in a kjw gun? I know first hand they differ slightly dimensionally with kjw mags but just about work. The likely problem is that the mags aren't sealing at the top with the gas chamber, test the gun with the mags pressed up hard into the gun with your hand to seal them, or try another brand of magazine. You have to consider the strength and design of the gas valve on a TM gun may differ from KJW.

The best thing to do is use mags of the same brand, KJW are one of the TM clones I know differ slightly in size from other brands.

yes i do hold them upside down. I will try the CO2 mags as your right the tm mags may not be putting out enough gas to push a heavier metal slide. As dimensions are concerned the Marui mags fit very nicely it probably needs a hi-flow valve. The gap between the BBU nozzle hole and the mag gas vent is no greater than the KJ mags. Thanks
