Im getting a good deal for my savage 22mag so im thinking of buying a new 22lr for the summer bunnies. cant decide between the great reviews of the cz 452 or the browning t bolt, both guns get great reviews, anyone have their own opinions of which is best

I had both, good guns for their money. I still have a cz 17hmr, for their money and build i would say cz

There's a good CZ 22lr in the sales section now. At the money he's looking for the Match model you won't go wrong.

    JapGt,
What prices are you talking about?

In general, Browning is in a league above CZ. I have a Citori and would highly recommend it.

You have decided to go with the bolt action? The 452 is hard to beat when it comes to the price/performance.

Have you held them both? What were your impressions?

    A review I found

I have owned a few straight pulls, are you okay with this? The straight pull is nice for war guns, like the K31. It keeps your head down when cycling the bolt - especially good for snipers who must keep a low profile.

The straight pull should help keep you on target. However, this is much less of a concern on a 22.

Again, I have not held one, however, I wonder if I would like the bolt sticking out like that.

I would try and download schematics for the bolt and see what the takedown is like.

I owned a ZOM 451 once and was not crazy about the straight pull on that.

Can't comment on the accuracy of the Browning T-Bolt, as I've never shot one, although having seen Bunnyshooter's bro's one, it's a very tasty looking bit of kit.

On the CZ side of things, I do have a CZ 452 Silhouette .22lr and it's a cracking rifle. Out of the box, very accurate and consistent. With a very minor bit of tweaking (trigger adjusted and some free-floating work done), it's working even better.

So, considering the price difference between the two rifles, personally I'd go for the CZ452.

T Bolt is accurate.............but so are CZ's...........T Bolt is very fast to cycle compared to 'ordinary' bolt ............ price difference is a consideration ........ either is a brilliant rifle ;)
