I'm just wondering what sort of purified water will do and do they sell it in Tesco?

Distilled water for batteries. I think that's how they label it anyway.

Sometimes also known as deionised water, also sold for steam irons. AFAIK you can also melt ice out of the freezer (not cubes made from tap water !) or the water from a condenser dryer.
