How to wash runners?

I was out for a run this morning and I must have had some sort of blister or something on my little toe as it started bleeding and it went through the sock and actually onto the material of the shoe itself. I now have a rather unpleasant looking red patch on my runners.

Is there a good way to clean this off? I have Asics 2160's so it's kind of meshy material over the toes rather than some sort of plastic that can be wiped clean.

I've heard of people putting runners into the washing machine but these are fairly new runners and were pricy enough so I don't want to ruin them.

    What's the best option?

    Thanks.

Unless they are also your best disco shoes wear the blood as a badge of honour.

Don't put them in the machine.

Don't wash them. Sure you only run in them what does it matter if there's blood on them. My trail shoes are still covered in blood from a fall I had in the mountains that left blood dripping down my leg. I beat my chest with pride every time I see that blood stain. :pac:

I have a couple of pairs of blood stained runners... it mostly comes out after a few wet runs.

This also serves as a reminder that you should not wear Lunaracers sockless.
