    Hi all!

I think I never be in Computers & Technology section before!

Anyway - I am thinking of getting a new laptop but would like it to be water proof - is there such a thing? or a cover thing that I can still type on it.

    Just wondering! thanks

Here's my 2c from my quick google search.

You can buy completely waterproof laptops, for a lot of cash.

For a lot cheaper u can buy some cover things that you put on ur laptop to stop water getting in. Google waterproof laptop, loads of the bag things come up, plenty of sites to buy off!

Why water proof? Did you have an accident with the last one?

Yeah the Panasonic Toughbooks is splashproof but I wouldn't like to immerse it in water. Some of them are rated to IP65 which means they can withstand a jet of water without sustaining any ill effects.

In short. No, you cannot get a water proof laptop. I have heard of covers that you can buy, but tbh, they seem like a complete pain in the ass.

I presume you're asking because you killed a laptop because you spilled water or something similar on it? Even if you did spend big bucks on something "splash" resistant, there's still no guarantee. I wouldn't worry about it all that much tbh, i've never done it and i've had laptops of all shapes and sizes for years.

Well, you can get underwater cameras, even covers that let you go swimming with your mp3 player, so why not?
