Hey people, guess the title probably gives the clue in what I'm looking for here. Been getting back into the game a bit and hitting the range lately. Am interested in getting a few lessons to make sure the time is being well spent. Anyone got recommendations on a pro giving lessons in Galway? I know there are a few about doing lessons in Salthill range and in Athenry but am interested in any recommendations people might have.

Didn't even know the range in Salthill was still open, I hear stories that it was closing as they owner wouldn't extend the lease? Anyway I've had lessons from Courtney Krugre in the driving range before and found him good, fairly technical which is what I wanted at the time. Sound guy and think he'll do lessons where ever suits be in the Galway driving range or the one in Glenlo Abbey if that's still open.

Sean Whelan or Gary Madden are both excellent. You'll get nos for them either in Golfstyle or Athenry GC. Christy O'Connors brother is also highly recommended out of salthill driving range.

Gary Madden. Keeps is simple - won't fill you with loads of technical speak. An excellent coach IMO.
He's part of the coaching team for the Connacht boys.
Got a lesson of Sean Whelan a few years ago and wouldn't be inclined to go back for another.

Cheers for the feedback. Can be a bit of a lottery so good to hear peoples thoughts and at least can be a bit more confident on choice if their is a recommendation or two behind it.
