Do NOT get the iPad 2 case cover/screen protector in PC world

Dropped forty quid on a Targus (€24.99) iPad 2 case and a Proporta (€16.99) plastic screen protector in PC world today, a combo recommended by the sales guy over the apple smart cover.

First of all, they are not compatible. The targus case wraps around the edges of the iPad 2 unseating the plastic screen cover. So you end up with unsightly blotches on every border.

Also, in years of plastic screen guards (iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, iPod touch and HTC desire) I never NEVER come across a ****tier screen cover.

Appalling quality, massively prone to air bubbling (I never had any issues using other guards). Had to take it off the finish was so crap and the edges so frayed (the edges not specifically being it's fault).

So now I've a rear case that seems to be incompatible with plastic front covers and a seventeen quid worth of plastic cover in the bin.

    Win.

This cracks me up every time - people who accept a 'recommendation' from a salesman. The reason the salesman 'recommended' those accessories is because they are not made by Apple and therefore DSG (Dixons/PC World/Currys parent company) are probably making a 1,000% markup vs. the much smaller margins they would make on official Apple products.

If you're going to buy non-Apple accessories then PC World is the last place you want to go.

    Thanks. For. That.

I thought a cover and a plastic screen guard were reasonably straight forward and I happened to be in Liffey valley anyway.

I would never buy computer off them or generally take advice. But a basic thing like a case and a screen protector not being useable (as intended) on the same device is disappointing.

Anyway, it's just to warn anyone else who might make the same mistake.

The currys/pc world guys are excellent in their forum. Even the managing director posts regularly! Don't get angry, demand satisfaction! :)

I'd recommend bringing it to their attention over in their own hosted forum here on boards OP.

As Stuart above posts out, the MD regularly posts there and seems a very reasonable guy, I'm sure he'd appreciate the feedback as well as maybe giving him an opportunity to sort this out for you.

Apple iPad 2 tablet should be used slightly smaller than the iPad generation design of this site with the previous foreign exposure iPad 2 screen protection film echoes the screen protective film was shown iPad 2 generation of the shape narrower than the . In addition, this appearance of the iPad 2 leather case with keyboard also revealed more details of the design iPad 2. iPad 2 or using tapered edge, flat back, such as design, while the speaker hole design seems like the earlier disclosed that would be even greater.:pac:
