The heater control valve is at fault. Replace it. Cheap easy fix.

Below the front window. Under the bonnet, you will see 2 pipes going onto it and 2 pipes going off it.

There will be a two or three pin plug attached to the heater control valve. Disconnect it and see if the heater stays hot. If it does, the valve is shot. If it goes cold, chances are that it is the heater control in the car itself.

Hi different problem for me, the fans in my car blow cold air out fine, but if you park up to do a maneuver or are parked up in traffic for long periods of time it starts firing out HOT air on the cold selection out of nowhere. Even blows slight air with fans at 0 when it does it!

So is this a failing HCV? Id love if it was, thats cheap to fix and my car is going for a service soon. If it is the HVC ill let the mechanic know so he can order the parts.

The resister pack could be giving trouble causing it to run at 0. There is a test to carry out to confirm for a fecked HCV. Take off the plug, get a circuit tester and put it to earth and touch either one of the pins in the plug. It should light up when it touches live. so you know the live and obviously the other pin has to be earth. Thats how it works, the module earths it. So it you put the heat control on middle setting (blue/red) then you put the circuit tester on live on battery and touch the earth on the pin the light on the circuit tester should go on and off every few seconds. If this does not happen it could be the module or wiring and not the HCV.
