My girlfriend is on the lookout for an old steel/metal water tank,as she wants to turn 1 into an outdoor garden water feature.

Does anyone know where I would get a large tank like this?

Anyone about to get replace an old metal tank in their attic, then let me know please.

Water tank only, cannot be oil tank.

    Thanks.:)

These tanks were put up in the attic before most of the roofs were put on. Chances of someone taking them out are very slim. Most plumbers push them to the side.

I knew someone that tried to cut one up with an angle grinder and the attic caught fire.

Recripocating saw seems to be the best bet.

It which case it will not survive for you to use.

Would a plastic one not do? Looks better in black rather than a silver rust bucket

    "She" said metal.

Dont ask me,Im just the messanger boy on this 1.:pac:

She has some made big garden design designed on her PC and it involves an old water tank as a water feature.

Are there any large containers that are stainless, like some some sort of round container for holding milk or beer or something like that??

Not a normal beer keg,but something a good bit bigger in size??

you could try ringing galco in ballymount and see if they have rejects or damaged stock that might suit maybe?

scrap is way up in value again so they tend not to be left lying around so much anymore

I wouldnt have the balls to say that to her.

She is more qualified than me with regards her career. And Im not bothered to say it,5 years of pure determination studying has got her to where she is now, fair play to her for it too.:D

Shes a fully qualified professional horticulturalist. She allways calls plants, flowers and trees by their latin name, and it baffles me how the hell she can say these names and also remember them.

And today I took one out of my uncles to replace with a plastic one. Not leaking and measures 100cm x 100cm x 60cm. Its in Monkstown. You still need one? Let me know asap as it's going the dump otherwise.
