    a friend of mine pisted this on facebook last week..I said "


    "That looks like a Swallow or a Swift chick but they havent even arrived from Africa to start breeding? is that an old photo? "

    She said "No its not long ago, I nursed him/her back to health, fed with water on a tea spoon & kids dug fresh worms!"

    So folks can i have your opinions on species, time of year and general thoughts.

    Agreed.

    Depends what she means by "not long ago".

    Swallows are still rearing late broods into October so it might have been "only" five months ago.

    Guarantee you it wasn't in 2011
