    Hi Everyone,

We have an 03 Audi A4, lovely clean car but its driving us mad, the hazards are coming on randomly and running down the (new) battery. Long story short, after a lot of investigating and money spent the problem has been correctly diagnosed as the On Board control Unit. The part number is 8EO907279D. It is fitted under the steering wheel. It turns out that the part is fairly expensive.

Can anyone help us with a second hand one??

    Thanks in advance...

How much were you quoted? Should be somewhere €200+

HI, was quoted over €500 for the part, labour and for programming it. The part itself was prob around the €200 mark alright. It's too expensive so if anyone can help us out that'd be great.

One here for less than that and it's brand new. All you need is someone with VCDS to code it for you then. You can have it done for the fraction of the price you were quoted.

Get some info before going ahead though. Some of the more recent cars require a live connection to the audi factory for coding certain components. SVM coding I think. I have no idea whether this applies to your car or not. If not, should be able to be done with vcds (vagcom) in an independant garage.

Thanks for that. Can anyone clarify if the programming has to be done by a main dealer? Still haven't any luck getting one in Ireland 2nd hand. Im nervous about buying one off ebay in case its dodgy.

You might find it hard to get a second hand one here. You would need the exact part number.

@ mad-for-tar: that one on ebay is gone I'm afraid and he doesn't have another one. THanks though.

I found another one ebay, it has the same part number except for the last letter is C instead of D. Does that matter??? :o

I wouldnt risk the part with the wrong letter personally.
